Grey twilight bursts through old windows,
Illumines and indwells deserted rooms.
Sallow dust on every surface.
The endless wind creeps
Through corridors, searching for
Colour and light,
Unaware of its absence.
In the abandoned house
Left behind on the hills,
The decaying roof moans
While open doors slam in the wind.
Thick old thorns encircle
And devour the ruins.
The walls of this prison,
This prison of emptiness,
Surrounding my body and soul
Make my stay no longer bearable.
As I run away,
I escape.
